ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard that aims to secure an organization’s data – from customer information to financial records – from business risks such as data breaches and data loss, and from the resulting financial losses, reputational damage, or potential regulatory fines and penalties. Firms certified under this standard demonstrated that they have established and maintained an information security management system that protects people, processes, and technology via the three main cornerstones of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
